Paintings:I steal lines and choreograph them into abstractions.
Many of my lines are drawn from dancers dancing. These works become abstractions, not of the dancers, but of the dance. Dance is primal, primitive and beyond reason, a ritualized form of expressing desire and animal need. The painting process is for me a passionate, wordless dance with the tactile sensuality of graphite and paint. The structural lines of my Caliente Series comes from dance.
